After spending the summer at Boston University’s Research in Science and Engineering (RISE) Internship program, I was eager to present our findings to other researchers working in similar fields. As a member of the American Vacuum Society (AVS), I submitted my research abstract to the AVS 71st International Symposium and Exhibition and was accepted to present my poster!

I had an amazing time at AVS 71 in Charlotte, North Carolina! I was able to interact and talk to so many different people that each brought different outlooks from their respective backgrounds. The strong interest in our research was exciting, and some of the questions I received by attendees were truly thought-provoking and intriguing. I was not only able to present our findings, but I was also able to visit other posters with researchers from all over the world. I saw just how interconnected many fields are, and the wide range of research presented was truly remarkable.
